Death Angel will be playing songs from their Grammy nominated album Humanicide as well as playing “Bored”, “Seemingly Endless Time”, “A Room with a View” and more. The band will also be playing songs from their upcoming tenth album. The current lineup of the band is made up of Rob Cavestany, Mark Osegueda, Ted Aguilar, Will Carroll and Damien Sisson and continue the Bay Area thrash tradition. Death Angel’s debut album The Ultra-Violence was recorded in the summer of 1987 and at the time all members were under 20 years of age with drummer Andy Galeon being only 14. Today Death Angel, along with 7 other Bay Area thrash bands, are referred to as one of the “Big Eight” of thrash metal and a Death Angel show will prove exactly why.
This episode is all about Vio-Lence and their second generation thrash metal sound as heard on tracks like "World in a World" and on their classic debut album Eternal Nightmare which would reach #154 on the Billboard 200. We take a listen to their 2022 Let the World Burn EP to see if they've lost a step. We also look into the story of how 20,000 copies of their second album Oppressing the Masses were destroyed due to the content of the song "Torture Tactics". The band is currently composed by original vocalist Sean Killian and a cast of other musicians. Interestingly enough Vio-Lence alumni Phil Demmel and Robb Flynn would later go on to form Machine Head.
Expect a pounding to the groove thrash rhythm of Incite, a groove thrash metal band from Phoenix, Arizona. The band is fronted by Richie Cavalera, the son of Max Cavalera from Sepultura and Soulfly fame. Expect some heavy groove thrash action in the space while we play songs such as "Army of Darkness", "Just a Rat", "No Mercy No Forgiveness" and some newer songs from their 2025 album Savage New Times. Richie Cavalera also appeared on a few Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy albums. Incite toured as part of the Maximum Cavalera Tour along with other bands in connection to the Cavalera family. The band is made up of vocalist Richie Cavalera, bassist Christopher 'EL' Elsten, drummer Lennon Lopez and guitarist Layne Richardson, who are all signed with Reigning Phoenix Music. A great representation of heavy metal from Arizona, and a look at the Arizona heavy metal culture.
